‘Ong Khoon Jin’ aka ‘DJ Coollen’ was born and raised in the pearl of the orient, Penang. He is considered one of the Pioneers in Penang club scene since the late ’90s. Frequently appeared at local parties, annual & wedding Dinner and pubs before he started spinning at big clubs.

He has been involved in all aspects of events around with his indisputable talent and skill, His style has developed through the years and his smooth and originality of versatile mixing & scratching talent have won him praises. He shows his flexibility as he spins thru the range of all kind of music to constantly keep the dance floors grooving.

DJ Coollen has been laying down Open Format music from R&B and Hip-Hop, Retro, Breakbeat, Dubstep, Trap, Deep, Tech, Future House, Progressive / Bigroom / Trance / EDM and more at clubs across the whole Malaysia.

He has also been hosting parties for underground gigs to mainstream clubs such as Bounce Club (Ho Chi Minh Vietnam), Paramount (Wuxi, China) NO.88 (Shanghai, China), Sixty3 (KL) Mainroom (KL), Laundry Bar (KL), Luna Bar (KL), Black & White (Alor Setar), Arena (Melaka), Bar Room (Ipoh), Lavish (Ipoh), Penang Clubs, Storm, Reggae Mansion, M20, Mois, Cuvee, Nueve, Cameo, The Bank, GLO dance club, Chillout, Flix, Soho and lots more.

DJ Coollen has been touring around across the whole Malaysia from humble beginnings of juggling through several parties featured alongside Famous Artist such as Goldfish & Blink (Malaysia), DJ Ken & DJ Fuzz (hitz.fm), Sam Lee (Hong Kong), DJ Angelo (UK), Joe.B (Texas / USA), DJ Ono (Bangkok), DJ Ken & MC Point Blanc (Zouk), Jayfrog from Scooter (Band), DJ Bento (Japan), MC Vibez, DJ Biggie & Joe Flizzoe, LapSap, Leng Yein (DJ / Model), Phat & Kit from 24Herbs (Hong Kong), Sugar Daddy (Taiwan) and lots more.

In 2014 he teams up with DJ Orangez K and forms “CXO” which means Coollen X Orange. A team that produces tracks, mashup, and remixes. Their first track was “Ready To Bounce”. His Mix Sets was featured in Malaysia’s Red.FM. DJ Coollen and his partner also open a DJ studio / Academy called “CLIMAX SOUND ACADEMY” to teach the art of DJing to the new generations.

His inspiration for his musically inclined talent grew. DJ Coollen is no stranger to the club scene. Clubbers who have had the opportunity to experience his tantalizing sets will always be amazed.
