Festive Feasts This Christmas at Resorts World Genting

December is the month for special Christmas menus and delicious promotions across the mountaintop resort

Genting Highlands, 8th December 2018 – No festival is complete without a feast. That doesn’t get any truer than in December, when Christmas arrives, bringing it with traditional recipes, delicious banquets and mouth-watering treats. Resorts World Genting gets into the swing of the season in scrumptious style this month, as the resort’s numerous F&B establishments introduce festive menus and offers that conjure up the spirit and flavour of Christmas and celebrations.

Festive flavours at SkyAvenue

Kicking off the gift of gourmet and goodies is the Santorini Village at SkyAvenue Mall, designed to resemble the beautiful island of Santorini in Greece with a winter twist. Amid the sparkling lights and towering trees will be a delicious-smelling blue-and-white kiosk serving all sorts of seasonal treats from Christmas gingerbread figurines, Christmas lollipops, delicious chocolates, mouth-watering cookies and traditional confectionaries such as Christmas stolen, Christmas yule logs and Christmas cakes. This gift of freshly-baked Christmas confectionaries and cakes can also be found at The Bakery on the ground floor of Genting Grand from 28 November 2018 to 1 January 2019.

Christmas Themed English High Tea

Elsewhere in SkyAvenue, the bounty of the season will be celebrated with hearty menus and special culinary promotions. At La Fiesta, a special dinner menu will be held between 8-14 December 2018 to celebrate the arrival of Hermanos Lurton wines to Resorts World Genting. Featuring a tailor-made menu by Chef Jacobo Astray, a graduate of El Bulli who has now started Gula in Bangkok, the dinner pairs creative twists on Spanish tapas staples – like chilled gazpacho soup, wild mushroom croquetas, grilled octopus and crunchy torrijas – with the complex beauty of Hermanos Lurton wines.

Just a short walk down an escalator from La Fiesta, Park Avenue Lounge sets the stage for a sophisticated Christmas Eve and New Year Eve celebration on 24 and 31 December 2018 with a canape and wine package (RM250 nett including a bottle of wine/RM500 nett including a bottle of cava). Countdown to Christmas and New Year 2019 with soaring views of the resort while nibbling on smoked salmon crostini, Christstollen roast chicken and honey glazed duck. The lounge will also be serving a special English high tea set with dainty finger sandwiches and delectable sweet treats on 24, 25 and 31 December 2018, and 1 January 2019. Around the corner from Park Avenue Lounge is the decidedly chic Parisian vibe of Cafés Richard, which is making the month a very sweet one with a Christmas High Tea set.

Until 1 January 2019, guests can tuck into sweet treats like pecan tarts, butterscotch eclairs, strawberry mille-feuille and crème brûlée, served alongside an appetising array of savoury bites like lobster on toast, escargot, foie gras tartlets and duck rillette. And specifically for the season, Cafés Richard will be brewing special Christmas drinks, including a Christmas tea and classic coffee drinks graced with creative Christmas latte art. Next door, Burger & Lobster celebrates the season with liquid promotions – including five-bottle beer buckets, Tower of London with Moet & Chandon Champagne and a soft-shell crab package with 4 signature drinks– from 1-31 December 2018.

The season for culinary excellence at Resorts World Genting

Turkey is the traditional meat for Christmas and Resorts World Genting honours that convention appetisingly. At Genting Grand, Coffee Terrace will be serving up whole roast turkeys – and all the trimmings – at its extensive annual festive buffet spread, priced at for the Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/New Year Day lunch and dinner. At Flavours in Awana Genting, turkey will play a headlining role in the a four-course Christmas Eve/Day dinner menu, while wagyu beef is the featured meat in the restaurant’s five-course New Year’s Eve menu. Whole-roasted turkeys will star in a stunning Christmas Day buffet spread at Rajawali Coffee House – mixed in with a grand selection of local and Western dishes – and for those that want to take the magic home, take-away roast turkeys (with potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce and turkey jus) will be available at The Bakery at Genting Grand and Bubbles & Bites at Maxims Hotel for average 4 kilos) on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with pre-orders opening 13 December to 23 December with full payment. Collection is on 24 & 25 December.

In the glamourous fine dining setting of The Olive, for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year Eve and New Year’s Day, The Olive will be serving the best of the best. In keeping with French tradition, the Christmas menu will feature a spread of fresh oysters and foie gras tarts to precede a main course of either roast turkey leg or sous-vide Angus striploin, while New Year will see a spread of fresh seafood with a main course choice of butter-poached monkfish or roast lamb shoulder.

Just across the hall from The Olive, LTITUDE at Genting Club will also be serving up special menus for the holidays. For Christmas, choose from a main of sous vide turkey or herb-crusted salmon to accompany a starter of scallops and prawns, as well as a warming potato leek soup. For New Year, smoked honey-glazed duck and seafood chowder pave the way for a hearty main of grilled lamb rack or grilled ribeye MB9. After dinner, settle down with a drink and a cigar around the fireplace at the LTITUDE lounge, while enjoying the cool weather and twinkling lights of the resort. At Imperial Rama on Level 2 of Maxims, this month will feature two new signature dishes from the Thai fine dining restaurant’s chefs – introducing Thai curry pork rib and potato with minced pork from 1-31 December. Over the same period, Genting Palace at Genting Grand will also be debuting five new chef specialties for the festive season, including stir-fried fresh eggplants and fish paste with X.O. sauce, simmered perch fig fish and yam with cheese and white pepper in a and fried salted fish and streaky pork in a clay pot.
