Collaborating with local music group An Honest Mistake, Laundry @ The Curve is organizing a 6-hour Music Marathon– an electrifying music festival that is open to public, taking place on Saturday, 31st May 2014 from 4pm until 10pm.
A firm supporter of the local music scene, Laundry has long been and continues to be an iconic platform for budding local musicians to showcase their talents. Artistes such as Zee Avi and Yuna also came through Laundry during their early years as musicians, and have gone on to become world-class performers.
Make your way to Laundry, The Curve, to experience 6 hours of pure entertainment – with nothing but live, loud and 100% original music.
The event will feature a total of 15 local bands, including An Honest Mistake themselves, performing their own brand of music to entertain the crowd. An Honest Mistake, the co-organizer of this event, is also a Laundry “graduate”, regularly performing there when they first started out in 2008. Today, the band is one of the most recognizable names in the local indie music scene, as well as neighboring countries of Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Philippines.
Another notable band taking the stage during this music marathon is SevenCollar T-Shirt. Regarded as one of the most established local English-language bands, SevenCollar T-Shirt has been active in the Malaysian music scene for over 10 years. Drones, their second album, which was nominated for the AIM award, is considered to be one of the most successful English-language albums in Malaysia and has brought them touring around South East Asia and the United Kingdom. Apart from that, there are 13 other homegrown bands that will be taking center stage on May 31st – Nick Davis, Jumero, Pastel Lite, Dangerdisko, the Metaphor, Thrill Me now and Lawa Nie Geng as well as 6 bands chosen by An Honest Mistake through the band submission that was held earlier last month – Black Lightbulb, Flying Pan, The Soundtrack, Overrad, The Marquee and Daiyan Trisha.
So, for those who want to catch the next big bands to rock the local music scene, head over to Laundry, The Curve, on May 31st 2014 with your friends and family to show your support for our homegrown talent, while having a good time. This event is open to public (no cover charge) from 4pm until 10pm.
