Vampires, fairies, ghosts and zombies. Just a regular crowd on UMEK’s recent shows on the US West Coast. However he was still performing as himself, rocking his signature Mishka t-shirt and sneakers, custom painted by himself. Halloween week was tough on the Slovenian DJ, who again spent most of his time on airports and Californian freeways. A few hours after performing at a sold-out Freakshow festival in Seattle, he pampered his fans in a small underground club Foundation, steps from the festival venue, had a power nap in the hotel and headed to San Bernardino to climb the mainstage of Escape from Wonderland, where he trew a fair amount of his t-shirts and fan scarves into the jumping crowd of fairytale creatures.
UMEK seems to enjoy his time in Los Angeles, where he’s been spending most of his free days during the week. The other day he posted a picture on Facebook of him and his entourage in Staples Center, cheering for their countryman Anze Kopitar of LA Kings (who by the way scored a decisive penalty for his team’s win).
The Slovenian superstar already started confirming dates for 2014 and according to rumors we’ll again be able to see him on world’s biggest festivals, where he apparently became a regular on the main stage.
