Shakira’s new album will be named after her herself. The ‘Can not Remember to Forget You’ singer has confirmed her tenth studio album which will be released end of March this year, is the name ‘Shakira’. In a public letter to her fans on Facebook writes the Columbian, the title was the result of self-reflection and “rediscovery” during the recordings.
An announcement was made on her Facebook page, saying, “We’re excited to announce that Shak’s teaming up with Target for the Deluxe Edition of her new album, Shakira (out March 25)! Here’s the artwork for the Deluxe Edition!”
She writes: “When it was time to give the album a name, I realized that it is not a thematic album, even though it is much to love is in love has always been one of my main themes and source of my inspiration there, not necessarily put a concept behind it, as was the case with albums in the past. at the end I understood that I learned during the making of the album a lot about myself.”
She adds, “It was only when I started with the recordings, I really understood what had happened I was on my way to a kind of rediscovery of myself.”
Saying about the genres of the album, she said, “Nothing more. A little bit of rock, a little bit of folk, a little reggae and naturally some dance–but as always, and above all, a lot of heart.“
